Magic Milkweed Moment with a Small Grandson

The two of us sitting in a field

your eyes sunlight sparkling on water

as we pull apart the bursting pods

as I blow a thousand wishes

into the capricious breezes around you

and you solemnly explore taste and texture

accepting the soft dancing halo

like a benediction.
